Job Description

Established organization is hiring on a direct hire basis for a Senior Loan Underwriter. The pay ranges from $65-72k/year, with bonus structures with on target earnings between $160-180k/year. Must be Bilingual Mandarin/Cantonese.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviewed borrower income, assets, credit, and collateral for direct loan applications to determine risk and eligibility.
  • Communicated directly with borrowers and loan officers to collect required documentation and clarify loan conditions.
  • Managed a high volume of direct retail loan files, maintaining accuracy and meeting strict turn time SLAs.
  • Performed detailed credit analysis and applied appropriate lending guidelines for direct purchase and refinance loans.
  • Identified potential red flags in direct loan files and recommended solutions to maintain loan quality.
  • Ensured direct loans met federal and state compliance requirements
  • Verified property valuations, title reports, and insurance documentation for direct lending transactions.
  • Collaborated with processors and closers to ensure smooth, on time funding for all direct loans.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in direct retail mortgage lending, underwriting, or credit analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of purchase and refinance loan products and lending guidelines.
  • Proven ability to assess borrower income, assets, credit, and collateral to evaluate risk.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state mortgage compliance requirements.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of loan files while meeting strict turn-time SLAs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills across lending teams.
  • Must be Bilingual Mandarin/Cantonese
